I had just moved back to New York City from Tokyo. I was in my new apartment and was going to a black tie benefit at Chelsea Piers. I took this shot before I left.

Birthday in style

I celebrated my birthday at the Hyatt Shinjuku, where Lost in Translation was filmed. My friends gave me a white feather boa and “Happy Birthday” balloons. I felt like a movie star walking through the hotel with my feather boa. I took this picture reflected in one of the balloons on the way home in the cab.

Double Reflect

Markus and I had just finished lunch at a Japanese men’s club (apparently they allow women in for lunch only). Bento boxes, waitresses in kimono, and sesame pudding for dessert. On the way back to the office we passed the massive orb. We are reflected from the front by the building and behind by the orb.

Pricey Melon

Proof that Tokyo is the pricey place on the planet. These melons cost over $100. Didn’t know I would end up in the picture as well.
